The Best Red Velvet Cake Recipe!

There's nothing quite like a decadent piece of red velvet cake covered in cream cheese frosting is there? I love that it's a unique flavor all it's own.

It tastes like a mix vanilla cake meets buttermilk cakes, meets very mildly chocolate cake. Here you get hints of chocolate complimented by vanilla (we aren't going with a 1 tsp red velvet cake that's just a waste!).

It has a tempting sweetness paired with a nice balance of light tang from the buttermilk. And the luscious cream cheese frosting just perfectly highlights it all.

This cake is one of my favorite cakes and I love making it around the holidays because it's color is so vibrant and festive. Valentines, Christmas, July 4th and birthdays are always a good reason to make red velvet cake.
